What is SeenItYet?
With hundreds of video sites and millions of videos to choose from, it's not easy to find the web's hottest videos on any given day. SeenItYet.com is a user-driven video discovery and sharing community that filters out the junk and delivers nothing but awesome videos, from the web's top video sites. It's both the first place to look for funny videos online, and a new way to entertain your friends.
Why should I use SeenItYet?
Because you don't have time to sort through piles of junk to find the best online videos. You also don't want to go to ten different sites looking for them. And of course, you want to find the awesome videos first, so that you can be the one to show your friends.
Who picks the videos?
You do! On SeenItYet, the members are the editors. You submit videos from the web's top video sites, and your ratings decide which videos are bumped up to the Awesome section each day. And the more you watch, rate, and share videos on SeenItYet, the more your votes are worth!
Why can't I submit a video?
In order to keep the quality of submissions high, we only allow submissions from members with at least a yellow belt (30 points) or higher. If you want to submit a video but you haven't earned your yellow belt yet, then start watching, rating and sharing videos, and you'll be there in no time.
Which sites do you currently support submissions from?
We currently accept videos from Break, CollegeHumor, FunnyOrDie, Hulu, Metacafe, MySpace, SuperDeluxe, and YouTube, with lots more sites coming soon.
How do I earn points?
Points are earned by positive site activity. Entering profile info, watching, rating, and sharing videos, leaving good comments and submitting videos that make it to the frontpage are all point scoring activities.
How did I lose points?
Leaving a negative comment can lose you up to 10 points, depending on how many down-votes it is given. Also, submitting a video will cost you 10 points at first, but if it's promoted to the Awesome Section, you'll earn 50 points.
What are points good for?
Points allow you to gain more power and influence within the SeenItYet community. The top 15 point leaders are featured on the leaderboard page.
What's up with the karate belts?
Each belt represents a new level of power within the community. The more you use the site, the more influence you have over which videos get promoted to the Awesome section.
What is SeenItYet Group Sharing?
It's a new, more personal way to share videos with friends. With SeenItYet Group Sharing, you and your friends can joke about/discuss your favorite videos, privately. By leaving the comment trolls, spammers, and idiots out of the conversation, sharing videos with friends becomes a lot more fun.
SeenItYet Sharing also gives you the ability to see which of your friends has or hasn't seen the video. Try it out and let us know if you like it better than the old video link email.
What is Following?
Following is tracking the videos that are submitted, liked, shared and favorited by either friends of yours or other members with good taste in videos. It's an easy way to discover videos you'll like. If you don't want to allow other members to follow your activity, go to the privacy settings in your profile and disable following.
Can I change the title and description of a video?
The title and description of videos on SeenItYet are automatically pulled in from the source (the site that is hosting the video). However, you can write your own funny caption for a video, and if it receives at least 10 up-votes by the community, it can replace the video's source description in the viewer window.
Can I upload a video to SeenItYet?
No. SeenItYet is a video discovery service which organizes video content from across the web. We don't allow video uploads, we only sort videos that have been uploaded to the top video sites.
