Community Guidelines
Here's a quick overview of how SeenItYet works and how to participate as an honorable member of the SeenItYet community.
SeenItYet Sharing
Sharing is caring, and it's also a great way to earn points in the community and entertain your friends. With SeenItYet Sharing, every video you share links to a private comment thread for you and your group of friends only. This way, you can discuss and joke about the videos you share, without having to deal with comments from online trolls and weirdos.
In order the make the sharing process easier, try creating a “Friends Group” by importing and saving your friends' emails. The next time you want to send them a video, it'll only take a few clicks!
SeenItYet sharing also allows you to see which of your friends have and haven't seen the shared video. When you share a video, you'll notice that next to your friends' names, will read “seen it” or “not yet”. Although not its intended purpose, this sneaky little feature can actually be a good indicator of who your real friends are!
Submissions
SeenItYet is a user-driven video community, which means, our users are our editors. We depend on your good taste in videos and your ability to find the web's hottest videos before they're actually hot. We love it when you submit videos that are hilarious, entertaining and worth sharing! We don't allow submissions that are spammy or pornish. In order to keep the quality of submissions high, you must be at the yellow belt level or higher to submit.
We support submissions from the web's top video sites. That list currently includes YouTube, Hulu, Break, CollegeHumor, FunnyorDie, Myspace, Metacafe.
Ratings
Help separate the videos that rock from the ones that suck by rating when you like or dislike a video. Please don't try to manipulate the rating of a video. We hate it when people are duped into watching videos that suck.
Comments
Sometimes a comment can be more entertaining than the video being commented upon, so be funny! Witty and insightful comments get up-votes. But in your attempts at comment humor, don't talk about other members' mothers or post harsh personal attacks. Worthless comments get down-votes.
Captions
A caption is a clever, funny video description. You can vote on other members' captions and submit your own by clicking the captions link on the comments page for any video. If you think a caption's funny, show some love and give it an up-vote. The highest rated community caption will eventually replace the source caption in the vidbox if it receives enough votes.
